FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) - 1 day

Fully compliant with the Health & Safety Executive code of practice. Valid for 3 years.

This course is designed to elevate confidence in responding to critical first-aid emergencies. Through a combination of practical exercises, classroom work and scenario-based learning, participants acquire skills essential for effective action in high-pressure situations.

The training enhances individual readiness, ultimately contributing to creating a safer workplace environment. By empowering individuals with the ability to take decisive action, this course plays a crucial role in potentially saving lives in emergency situations.

On successful completion of the course, learners will have the skills and knowledge to qualify as Emergency First Aiders, capable of delivering treatment to casualties in a prompt, safe, and effective manner.

This course equips participants with vital first aid skills, including assessing situations, administering CPR, and managing various medical emergencies. By fostering a confident response capability, organisations can ensure a safer workplace and enhance overall employee well-being.

Course content

A range of subjects are covered including:

Responsibilities and reporting
Resuscitation and AED awareness
Burns
Assessment of the situation (Primary and Secondary Survey)
Anatomy
Choking
Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
Minor injuries
Epilepsy
Basic hygiene in First Aid
Bleeding control
Shock

Assesment

Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, and a three-year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.

Please note, as part of this qualification, attendees will be observed performing CPR on a manikin.

It is important to understand that this task must be carried out on the floor, requiring attendees to kneel.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a First Aid at Work certificate, fully regulated and valid for three years.

All courses come with E-certificates and paper certificates.

Duration

1 Day course. 6 hrs contact time, excluding breaks.

We are able to accommodate up to 12 learners on this course.

Location

Courses can be delivered in-house, at a location of your choice, or a venue arranged by us.

Included

Costs of books, handouts, bandages, manikin face-shields, lungs, and other resources are included in course fee.

Additional

We are also able to provide essential regulatory workplace policies, Health and Safety Executive compliance documents and can conduct a full workplace review outlining recommendations for First Aid provision, if required.
