First Aiders for Mental Health Annual Refresher - half day

This is a non-regulated annual refresher course recapping the skills and knowledge the learners have previously learnt on their regulated First Aid for Mental Health qualification whilst also looking at current events that may affect a person’s mental health and ways in which we can improve our wellbeing.

This course has been designed for First Aiders for Mental Health to refresh their skills and knowledge and to stay up to date with current events.

The course covers key topics from the regulated First Aid for Mental Health qualifications, including the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, how to develop a first aid action plan for mental health and ways in which people can improve their general wellbeing.

Course content

A range of subjects are covered including:

• What is first aid for mental health?

• Stress

• Mental health conditions

• First aid action plan for mental health

 • Current external factors affecting mental health

• Wellbeing

Assessment 

Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual ongoing throughout the course and issue a certificate of attendance.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a First Aiders for Mental Health certificate, outlining what has been covered.

All courses come with E-certificates and paper certificates.

Duration

3.5hrs contact time, excluding breaks.

We are able to accommodate up to 12 learners on this course.

Location

Courses can be delivered in-house, at a location of your choice, or a venue arranged by us.

Additional

We are also able to provide essential regulatory workplace policies, Health and Safety Executive compliance documents and can conduct a full workplace review outlining recommendations for First Aid provision, if required.
